WHQS consultation - Staff

Please join us for an information and discussion session on the proposed updates to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS). A formal consultation is currently / about to open.

WHQS has been around since 2002 and sets the standard for all existing social homes in Wales. It covers everything in the home e.g. energy efficiency, kitchens, bathrooms, gardens. Details of the current standard can be found in these links:

WHQS has achieved much, and improved homes over 20 years but a new and updated version of WHQS is now needed. It will look familiar but will aim to drive us forward in tackling affordable warmth and decarbonisation and other issues such as flooring throughout the home and water efficiency.

We want to make the most of the opportunity – the new WHQS is likely to be with us for a long time and we want to get the best standard we can. To do that, we need the views of tenants and staff who are directly impacted by the changes. In this session we will gather feedback and provide information on how you can respond directly to the consultation.

This session is suitable for staff who are involved or have an interest in WHQS 2.
