The cost-of-living crisis has caused us all to reflect on how we can buy and use less, and RE:MAKE is a great resource that can help answer some of those questions. TPAS Cymru will be hosting an information session on RE:MAKE Newport, a store that is leading the way in promoting ‘reduce, repair, reuse’ - something we hear so often. And we want to hear from you!!  

Here is a blurb about who they are and what this session will cover:  

We are RE:MAKE Newport, Wales’ first repair and reuse hub on a high street. We are a library of things (offering low cost borrows), a repair café (offering free repairs of household items/garments etc) and a workshop space run largely by volunteers. We are currently supporting four other RE:MAKE’s to get set up across Wales (Pontypridd and Maerdy confirmed) in line with the Welsh Governments commitment to 80 repair and reuse hubs in their ‘beyond recycling’ strategy.  

We are supported with a retail space from Newport City Homes in Newport, South Wales and are really interested in hearing about what tenants have to say about repair and reuse in their own communities.  

We would like to set up an advisory panel through TPAS Cymru to ask your opinion on our project and your own community. We are inviting you to attend this information session so we can tell you all about RE:MAKE. We are looking for a diverse panel from across Wales.  

This free session will take place via Zoom and runs for one hour. It will allow you the time to discuss how RE:MAKE might look in your community and how we can all be more sustainable during this time of rising costs.
