Hoarding in Social Housing: how to support tenants to maintain tenancies

Tuesday 9 July: 10.30am – 12.00pm

Hoarding is a complex problem for social landlords and tenants, sometimes resulting in eviction and homelessness. It is time-consuming and costly for the landlord and traumatic for the tenant. This interactive online workshop will explore how to deliver support to tenants using different aspects of support using a more person-centred approach that benefits both tenants and landlords.

Roisin O'Kelly, Head of Service - Platfform will be introducing therapeutic models and approaches, based on Trauma-informed, person-centred support that is provided within social housing and community support throughout Wales. Roisin will be presenting approaches in delivering support to residents facing mental health challenges and assisting people in securing and maintaining tenancies alongside preventing homelessness.

Kayley Hyman Holistic Hoarding:  Join us as we explore hoarding through the lens of mental health and trauma, and consider new best practices in the field to tackle the complex condition of hoarding.  This multi-faceted condition needs a multi-faceted approach, with new philosophies at its centre to promote positive tenancies
