The tenant voice in North Wales

This week, we brought tenants from across North Wales together for a special event. After 35 years of championing tenant voices and engagement at TPAS Cymru, it’s moments like this that remind us why we do what we do.

We were thrilled to have Jayne Bryant MS, the Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government, join us to speak directly with tenants from across North Wales about what matters to them. This event provided an opportunity for tenants to speak directly with the Cabinet Secretary about what matters to them, the issues and concerns they have and for the Cabinet Secretary to answer questions from tenants on subjects including; rent affordability, repairs, WHQS23 and Net Zero.

The Cabinet Secretary shared the latest updates from the Welsh Government on housing, but more importantly, she listened. Tenants spoke openly about their experiences, sharing the good things that are happening, speaking about what needs to improve, and everything in-between. Their stories and questions were important, highlighting what truly matters to tenants and showing exactly why tenant voices matter so much.

This event is part of the range of opportunities we provide tenants to share their voices at every level in the housing sector. Whether it’s online through our Tenants Network or Tenant Voice Cymru Forum or at face-to-face at events like this, we’re focused on connecting tenants with the people making decisions about their homes and communities.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and made the day so meaningful. Together, we’re making sure tenants’ voices are front and centre in shaping housing in Wales.
