Marcus Powell

Marcus is a Tenant Engagement Partner in Wales` first mutual housing organisation, Merthyr Valleys Homes and is responsible for the engagement with new housing developments and major projects. He is also the current Chair of their Democratic Body, which is made up of tenant and employee members whose role is to make key decisions on vital services such as the approval of the corporate strategy, reviewing future rent setting and appointments of Non-Executive Directors and the Chief Executive.

Marcus is also a member of their Audit Committee and Policy Committee.

Before securing a role within the housing sector over 5 years ago, he worked for Barclays Bank for over 13 years where he was awarded several awards for excellent customer service.

Marcus was born and still resides in Merthyr Tydfil and is passionate about ensuring the tenant voice is at the forefront and in his spare time he plays hockey for Penarth Men’s Hockey Club.
